Lost Maples

We took a family adventure to Lost Maples yesterday. Some of the trees were just exquisite. We decided to hike a loop that was just shy of 5 miles. It was steep and rocky at some points but the girls did an amazing job of going the distance. We did piggy-back them a few times...but they walked most of it. I'm thankful for God's incredible creation and for precious time with my family.
The girls and I are in this picture....can you find us?

Hannah and Natalie are at the base of the tree. Isn't it gorgeous?!

After climbing up, up, up...this was the view!
Not as colorful as I'd hoped...but beautiful nonetheless!

Paul taught the girls about rings in the tree stump.

We discovered that the fall colors looked even brighter with my sunglasses on.
Hannah loved it!
Both girls took some tumbles and shed blood.
Here they are pointing to their various injuries from our hike.
