Heart of Christmas

I had the opportunity to play dinner music for the Heart of Christmas banquet on Tuesday. It is a "ladies only" outreach event that is hosted by our church each year. This year the banquet was held at the Omni Hotel instead of the church. Women can sign up to host and decorate their own table. Each table is unique and amazing! These pictures (below) don't really do the tables justice. They were incredible. The evening begins with the ladies walking around the ballroom visiting with one another and enjoying all the beautiful table decorations. Then they were served a nice dinner (I assume). We played during all of that so I'm not completely sure. Dinner was followed by drama presentation and some carol singing.

It was such fun to play "real" music again. I seriously had not practiced that much since college. Our ensemble included another flute, clarinet, bassoon and piano. Each member of the ensemble was very talented. My favorite selections were from the Nutcracker ;) I love, love, LOVE Christmas music. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
