Our Sweet Natalie is 2 years old today!
-You are still my cuddle-bug. In the morning or after naps and sometimes in the middle of the day you just want to lay your head on my shoulder and snuggle. With the exception of when I'm cooking dinner...I LOVE this about you. I love that you gives hugs and kisses freely...you are such a sweetie!

-You are still brave and fearless most of the time. You enjoy going to "school" and your class at church. You never look back or seem sad for me to leave you. At the playground you will climb anything and I mean--ANYTHING. Nothing is too high or difficult for you (at least that is what YOU think!).
-You still don't say much! We have an appointment in early January to determine if you are just taking your sweet time with talking or if you need some speech therapy. Either way, you are great at communicating and obviously understand pretty much everything we say. You are talking more and more with each week that passes but not putting any words together yet. I can't wait until you start chattering and we can find out all about what you are thinking! One exception is that you DO love to talk about colors....your favorites are yellow, blue and purple. If you see ANYTHING with these colors you will proudly identify them!
-Natalie, you show a love and aptitude for music. You have started singing songs--your favorites are: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Joy to the World, Jingle Bells,Wheels on the Bus, Frere Jacques and The Farmer in the Dell. You don't sing the words but instead use nonsense syllables (like "la la" or "ma ma" or "we oh"). When you sing a melody it is very clear and distinct. If music from the TV or radio grabs your attention you begin to spin, bounce or bop your head. It is the cutest thing!
-You love Thomas the Train--a lot! Cars and trucks, too! But your big sister has already introduced you to all things girly. You can often be found in plastic high heel and a tiara. You love to play with baby dolls also. You strip them of all their clothes and then put them "to bed" face down on the floor or a pillow or wherever! (You put them to sleep on their tummy because that is how YOU like to sleep). Then you place a washcloth (aka "doll blanket") over the baby and pat or rub their back. Precious!
-You are "Miss Independence"....you insist on climbing into your car seat and buckling the top buckle all by yourself. You almost always put your own shoes and socks on. This can be interesting since you like to wear socks that don't match and shoes that are too big...but you are very proud of yourself. You are learning to get undressed! Might be time to potty train soon.
-You have a sensitive spirit. If someone raises their voice sharply to correct you. Or if you receive a spanking...you are heart broken. It seems to affect you very deeply. I pray that this sensitivity will one day help you learn to love others.
-Hannah, Daddy and I are your favorite people in all the world! If you are feeling silly or playful you gravitate towards Daddy or Hannah. If you are grumpy, tired or hungry--only I will do.
These past two years have gone by in a blur! You are still my baby but I know that really, you are becoming such a big girl. I'm looking forward to seeing how you will learn and grow this year. You are an incredible blessing. We love you so very much, Natalie June!

Here is your silly "camera smile" - squinty eyes!
We had a little party today to celebrate your birthday. Myles, Allison, Kaitlyn, Aaron, James, Hannah M., Chloe, Hannah T., Joshua, Arwen, Caedmon and their mommies were all there to celebrate with us! We did it during the day while Daddy was at work. You ended up eating your lunch on the floor...but you didn't seem to mind :)
You thought the cupcakes were pretty yummy...
