Trip to Pennsylvania

Hannah, Paul and I flew to PA the day before Easter. I was excited to go but apprehensive about how Hannah would behave on the plane. She did pretty well...only crying for about 30 minutes on the airplane. She cried quite a bit more in the car ride home but at least we weren't stuck on a plane. When we got to my parents house, we were excited for Hannah to meet her aunts and uncles for the first time. Uncle Justin, Aunt Coral, Uncle Brad and Aunt Laura were happy to meet her. Paul and I were also excited to meet our niece, Summer, who was born last May in India. It was the first time we had seen my brother, Justin, and his wife Coral in 2 and a half years. It was so good to see them!! I wish we could've spent the whole week together!

My niece Summer is just adorable! She has the bluest eyes you've ever seen and white-blond hair that sticks up a little on the top of her head. She smiles all of the time showing off her teeth. Summer crawls in a comical way on her hands and feet with her bottom sticking up in the air. It makes me smile every time I see her crawl! She celebrated her 10 month birthday on Easter along with my sister Laura who turned 27! Summer can stand up all by herself and will probably walk any day now. I helped her practice by walking laps with her around my parents house. She held onto my fingers as she walked. Playing with Summer and watching her interact with everyone makes me excited for when Hannah is that age!

It was also wonderful to see other family! We were excited for Hannah to meet her great grandparents and great aunts and uncles. Pa and Grandma Esther came for Easter dinner and we took a trip down to Waynesboro so that Hannah could meet Grandma (picture of 4 generations).

Aunt Beth came over on Easter and then again later in the week. She was wonderful, holding Hannah while she slept and bouncing her tirelessly while she cried. Aunt Beth gave Hannah two special books to read...and I showed her how Hannah and I read books together.

Paul, Justin and Brad all went back home to work on Monday...so it was just the girls until Wednesday when Laura had to leave. My Mom took Coral and Summer home on Thursday. On Tuesday Mom babysat the babies while Laura, Coral and I went out to Olive Garden for lunch! Soup and salad--YUM!

Another huge highlight of my trip was visiting with 3 wonderful friends! Three of my bridesmaids! The strange thing is that we ALL have kids now. Stacy has 3 boys. Corrie has a boy and a baby girl. Kristy has a baby boy. Both Corrie and Kristy had babies within 2 weeks of Hannah's birth. It is pretty fun to know that your friends are going through the same things as you. I wish I could've spent much more time visiting with each one--especially Stacy who I hadn't seen in 3 years. Caleb and Eli, Stacy's twins, are so big! 4 and a half! They are so sweet and polite. The last time I saw them they were just babies. Time sure does fly!

The week in PA flew by. It was like a vacation for me because so many people wanted to hold Hannah (especially my Mom!) and my Mom cooked wonderful food everyday. I am happy to be home...Hannah and I missed Paul...but I will miss everyone in PA.
