Weird Animals! VBS 2014!

The girls and I just finished up a FABULOUS week of Weird Animals VBS at church! This was our 5th summer to participate in VBS at Wayside and we are so, so blessed to be a part of it.  Just in case you were wondering if the girls enjoyed it...these are some of the questions and comments I heard this afternoon when it was all over.  "I'm sad that VBS is over.  Me too.  How long until the next VBS?!  What will the theme for next year's VBS be?  I love Weird Animals VBS!"

The students at VBS learned about how much Jesus loves them this week.  They memorized verses, sang and danced in worship, went to Bible, crafts, games, snack, KidVid, puppet theater, the list goes on forever.
If you ask Natalie what her favorite part of VBS was...it was a different answer everyday. I think she especially loved snacks one day, crafts another, singing another.  But a special highlight for her was being in the same crew as her favorite friend-Ali!  She has told me (especially this week!) that she loves Ali a ton and  misses spending time with her. I'm SO GLAD they got to spend all morning with one another this week!
When I asked Hannah each day what her favorite part of VBS was --her answer stayed the same. It was always "Bible."   I think she loved how the stories were dramatized in costume--the Bible stories came to life before her eyes. I love that she LOVED Bible time most of all. She also loved the assembly times of singing and dancing and said they came in a close second place. :-)

Sweet friends growing up together :-)

Our girls adore these special high school girls.
Both Hannah and Lizzie have been my voice students and served at VBS this year.
We got to give this sweet girl a ride to VBS several mornings this week.
So fun to make new friends!
"Dr. T and Rufus"  with the girls.
I love that our pastoral staff all get involved with VBS. These two guys were amazing this week in leading the assembly times and keeping us laughing and smiling.  And they FINALLY found Kuzco!!!!!

Is she a weird animal?  so fun!
Elementary  Games Leaders
I was so thankful for the opportunity to co-lead Elementary Games with one of my best friends this year. Mary and I had a fun, exhausting week playing games with over 300 students every morning this week.  I'm so thankful for the student leaders who have servants hearts and hard-working hands. We couldn't have pulled it off without them.
