Just the two of us...

This past weekend Paul and I got to spend 48 hours kid-free!  Despite lots and lots of rain and my phone malfunctioning (which meant time spent online trying to fix it...going to the Apple store AND the Verizon store) we got to spend lots of quality time together. :-) We rented a movie and got take out on Friday night.  On Saturday we spent some time working on my phone problems and then made our way to Fredericksburg, TX.  We picked strawberries and blackberries first. Next we found a new BBQ place to try for lunch--Paul loved it! Then we headed to Becker Vineyards for some wine tasting, live music and a tour. It was very busy! But a beautiful place with some yummy wines. After that we stopped at a little shop for pie and ice cream before heading out to Enchanted Rock where we hiked for a couple of hours. We were thankful for the long hours of daylight. On Sunday we enjoyed sleeping in and going to the Magnolia Pancake Haus for brunch. Then we went to a movie IN A THEATER!!!  Ha! We do that so rarely these days.  We saw Star Trek and it was great. Finally we went for a run on some trails by our house and then it was time to pick up the girls. It was so nice to take some adventures and have the time for just the two of us.   I'm so thankful to the Shobes for taking such WONDERFUL care of our girls.
scrumptious berries!
Paul gave this spot his stamp of approval!
Becker Vineyard
Our winery tour guide - he was fantastic!
The "Library" in the cellar
Still down in the wine cellar on our tour
Enchanted Rock...We hiked to the top and around the base, too.
If you look closely you can see people on the trail.
Beautiful flowering plant
These yellow wildflowers were EVERYWHERE...even up on the "bald" face of the rock.
There are many interesting  and huge boulders on and around Enchanted Rock
Flowering cacti were everywhere
It was delicious!

I'm so glad you had a great weekend. It looks fun. We'll have to do the switcheroo with the kids again.
