The week before Easter, I got out the Resurrection Eggs for the girls to play with. Hannah, especially, had a lot of fun playing with the pieces and telling the Easter story. All week, when she found an empty egg she would exclaim, "The tomb is empty!"
On Saturday morning, the girls and I dyed eggs.
Both of them enjoyed this immensely.
Honestly, they would have dyed every egg PINK if I hadn't intervened.
(the scary looking one was supposed to be purple. oops!)
We were blessed to spend Saturday evening with friends and neighbors eating yummy food and hanging out. There was even an egg hunt for the kids!
(for my northern friends & family...the confetti came from cascarones which are confetti filled eggs.
They very popular here in San Antonio!)
After baths, we stayed up late Saturday night making our Resurrection cookies.
In the picture below the girls are beating the pecans for the cookies...
just like Jesus was beaten before he was crucified.
Both Hannah & Natalie helped to scoop the cookies onto wax paper
before popping them in the oven overnight!
On Easter morning, our Resurrections cookies were ready!
I'm pretty sure the girls each ate a dozen.
They're mostly air, right?! ;-)
