Oh! sweet Natalie! you are 16 Months old today! You becoming such a big, big girl! Your vocabulary is slowly expanding although I would say you use signs to communicate most of the time. You say "buh-buh" for bubble and "ah" for eye. You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE shoes! You constantly take off at least one of your own shoes in order to try on someone else's shoes. Doesn't matter about the size or style, if its a shoe-- you love it. You also love to try on other people's clothes. If Hannah discards her socks or pants onto the living room floor (yes, this happens all the time!) you will definitely try them on for size. You are AMAZINGLY good at putting on socks by yourself....at least on one foot. You are a bit like Daddy because I think you like to stay up late and then sleep in. Going to bed for the last several weeks has been a challenge for you, but once you fall asleep, you stay asleep! You are such a happy little girl--most of the time. But when you aren't happy, the WHOLE WORLD knows! You have had a little separation anxiety this month. It's always been easy to hand you off to childcare workers at the gym or church childcare but as of late you are pretty upset if I leave you with anyone but myself. You learned to blow bubbles by yourself this month--at least sometimes you get a bubble or two. (Hooray for the no-spill bubble tumblers!) You have gotten quite good at using a spoon to feed yourself. This may be due to neglect on my part. But seriously, if it is a somewhat sticky food like yogurt you can get most of it in your mouth with a spoon, no problem. . You officially have 10 teeth on this 16 month birthday and continue to be a big girl! At your 15 month well visit the other week you were about 25.5 pounds. I can't remember how tall you were .....just that you were about 95th percentile for weight and around 55th for height. My chunky monkey :-) LOVE those thighs! You LOVE reading books with me--pointing to things & making animal sounds. You find a book and then "plop" yourself in my lap without any warning and hand me the book--it is SO cute! You like to do "motions" for chants and songs too! Right now your favorite is the Itsy Bitsy Spider song. You have begun playing "dress ups" much earlier than Hannah ever did--it is not unusual for me to find you wearing sunglasses or a tiara. You love to be silly--spinning and dancing with Hannah. You have learned how to torture your big sis already. This makes me sad. But you already know how to hit, pull hair AND "cry wolf!" You still readily lay your head on my shoulder for some cuddling and I wouldn't trade it for the world. You are our sweet, sometimes silly and beautiful little girl. We are so, so thankful for the gift that you are Natalie June!
