Reading Corner

We finally got rid of the futon in Hannah's room. We rearranged her furniture a little bit and put some pillows in the corner to make a "reading corner". She loves to read! In fact, I feel almost guilty because she would like for me to read to her for hours a day...especially if I will answer all her "why" and "what" questions...sometimes she amazes me with her questions! I don't spend as much time reading to her as she would like....usually just before nap and bedtime. Here she is reading a book to some of her dolls...

What is she reading to the dolls? Why, one of her "Nutcracker" books, OF COURSE! She is very into ballet, "beelahreenas" and the Nutcracker right now. When I was cooking dinner last night she was begging me to dance around the living room with her. Oh! how I love this age!
If you were reading this book with Hannah, here are some of the things she would ask after reading this page.....
H:"What are their names?" (pointing to the children) We make up names for each of them.
H: "Where is their house?" (referring to the little children) and "Can I see it?" (referring to the house she thinks is missing)
H: "What is she wearing?" (pointing to the puffy sleeves on "Mother Ginger's dress)

My mom did read to us for hours and hours. I remember her frequently reading until her voice got tired.

If we lived nearer to each other, Hannah could come to my house and play with my Nutcracker set!

(I tried to include the Amazon link to the Nutcracker set I have, but I don't think it worked. It's called "The Nutcracker Ballet Theatre" by Jean Mahoney. You can search and see it if you want.)
