2.5 years!

Hannah, you are officially 2 and a half today! You are so much fun to be around. You are silly, sweet, creative and very smart. You talk CONSTANTLY. Usually in full, sometimes rather complicated sentences. I never know what you will say next. You love to sing songs with me. You love to "read" some of your books to me. You have at least 5-10 of them memorized. You sit very still when we read books now and can last through books with quite a bit of text on each page. You like to ask me all sorts of questions about the pictures and stories. You have a great imagination and play independently very well! You will play with your baby dolls, kitchen, trains, etc. It is so much fun to hear what you are thinking. You count things pretty well. You can say your numbers in order up to 10. And you can actually count objects up to at least 5. Daddy is teaching you simple addition and you get it right most of the time! (1+3 =4) You can identify about half of the alphabet out of context. You can write the letters A, H & O. If we can just get the letter N you will be able to write your name! You love to dress yourself though often in only one color. For instance, if you start with a pink skirt....you will pick a pink shirt and pink hair bow to go with it. This drives me a little nuts...but I know it is a stage. You have become a very girly-girl. You love to wear dresses and skirts and if they are shiny and sparkly, all the better. You have memorized most of Ephesians 6:1-2 which says "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother--which is the first commandment with a promise" We are working on teaching you obedience. Like most kids, I suppose, you like to obey sometimes when it doesn't cramp your style. You tend to be very dramatic especially when you are tired. You are also very contrary sometimes....especially when anyone is taking a picture of you. You interact with your little friends more and more all the time! It is fun to see you running, laughing and playing with other kids your age. Some of your favorite friends right now are Arwen, Chloe, Hannah, Hannah and Kaitlyn. And no, that is not a typo. You have two little friends with the same name as you. You, of course, identify them by their first AND last names. In fact, you are GREAT with names. It cracks me up to hear you talk about your friends and then name both of their parents in the next breath. Ha! Sometimes I think you know their names better than I do. You love to swim but I'm afraid we haven't gone very many times so far this summer. With Daddy still on crutches, I'm a little afraid to brave the pool with both you and Natalie by myself. Speaking of Natalie....You adore your little sister and love when she smiles and laughs at you. It is precious to see you two interact! You do get pretty jealous of her at times and sometimes try to beat her up a little...but I also catch you bringing her toys or returning her pacifier without even being asked. You love to climb up on the side of her crib and greet her as soon as she wakes up from a nap. You are a pretty good eater most of the time. Your favorite foods these past six months have been peanut butter on bread (you call them "peanut sandwiches"), cheese sticks (string cheese) blueberries (you prefer them frozen..asking for "cold blueberries") and chocolate! I can't believe how quickly these 2.5 years have gone....and it makes me sad to think what you will be 5 before I know it. I love you, my sweet Hannah-Goose!
