1st Haircut

Hannah got her first haircut tonight. I ended up just taking her to good ol' Great Clips. I'm cheap. I went into one of those great places especially for kids but they charged an arm and a leg...so we went cheap. But we had a good experience. I don't plan to do this very often...but I was afraid to do it myself...pretty sure I would butcher her hair. Plus, I'd rather be mad at someone else for messing up her hair. But I 'm not mad. Just a little sad. It makes me really sad actually. Sad because she is growing up into such a big girl so quickly! And sad because her "baby hair" is gone. Her hair was longish in the back and a little curly...there were lots of wisps everywhere. If I don't pull it back she looks like a wild child. I still plan to pull it back because I don't want to cut bangs. So I had the girl chop some length off in the back to help her hair look thicker and clean up the sides a little bit. Hannah doesn't have much hair to work with so it didn't take terribly long. Hannah was SO well behaved! I think it was partly the lollipop they gave her to keep her busy and partly the fact that she was scared. Anyway, she sat very still the whole time quietly sucking her lollipop. They gave us a little certificate for her first haircut and let me keep a lock of her long hair in the back. (sniff! I kind of wish it was still attached to her head!) Anyway...here are some pics ....

Her long hair before cutting...sorry this pic is so terrible.

Natalie came along and was all worn out from the excitement by the time we got home.
