Cupid 10K

Last night I did a 10K trail run with some sweet ladies...notice our very cool head lamps!
(I'm the giant on the left. ha!)
It was kind of a crazy run! It had rained a ton the day or so before and so the trails were very MUDDY. Multiple times I was "wading" in water well over a foot deep....and the mud was so thick at times that I ran right out of my shoes. Needless to say, we weren't going terribly fast. I think it took us about 1.5 hours. I was the slowest in our group. I was looking at the back end of these other sweet ladies the whole way! Mary kindly slowed her pace (especially at the end of the race) so that I wouldn't be left alone on the dark trail.
Here is a pic of our super muddy shoes and legs although it doesn't come close to doing us justice. We were a MESS!!!
Mary and I.
Mary is in my Interface Bible Study and I love her SO MUCH!
The race was a blast and definitely an adventure! I will never forget it. I'm pumped to do another race! Anyone game?!?

Whaaaa? You're already running a 10K??? Julia, I am WAY impressed. I'm still at the stage of getting enough motivation to put on a pair of running shoes. Way to go! It looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

I'm in, I'm in! I do at least 1 5K a month...sometimes a 10K or even a 10 miler...would love to have company! But, I'm not too big on the night-time runs, especially the trail runs...I've done a few and felt on the brink of breaking an ankle the entire time! haha...guess I like letting my mind wonder when I run and you can't do that on a trail in the dark. Way to go!
