Lazy 5 Ranch!

Our most memorable excursion in NC while visiting Laura and Brad was probably our visit to The Lazy 5 Ranch! Wow! It was so cool. It is a park that has exotic animals roaming freely! You can drive your car on several miles of dirt road while touring the ranch. At the beginning you can purchase small buckets of feed that ALL the animals love! They come right up to your car windows to eat! You are not supposed to get out of your car...but just hold the bucket out for them. It was hilarious and even slightly alarming at times. The large, ugly birds (ostriches mostly) made Laura and I shriek a couple of times. Along with the llamas and a few others they were pretty aggressive about getting their share of food. But it was fun to be so "up close and personal" with the animals. A zebra ate right out of my bucket and its nose was even touching my hand...weird! Definitely more exciting than the zoo! Anyway...I most definitely couldn't name all of the animals that we saw...but here are a few good shots...there were so many I could never put pics of them all.

I'm so glad you had such a fun trip seeing family! My inlaws took Elena and Evan to a wildlife park in San Marcos (or was it New Braunfels?) and Elena has not forgotten the experience!

What fun!! That is a total different experience than a zoo. I'm sure Hannah wanted to see an elephant :-)

The Safari Ranch here is like that. We didn't get to see the zebra though. The ostriches are crazy!
