Precious friends and Opa-pa

This past week and a half have been a whirlwind of visiting with people. Having a baby is great! It gives people an excuse to get together--even if it means flying across the country. One of my best friends in the world--Jill--came to visit Paul, Hannah and I for almost a week. It was so fun to have a friend to talk to, take walks with and just hang out with. While I wouldn't say that hanging out with Hannah all day is lonely or boring--it was wonderful to have Jill here. We even took a few adventures with Hannah in tow. We went outlet shopping and to the Shops at La Cantera. We spent part of a day downtown taking Jill and Hannah on their first San Antonio River boat ride, seeing the Alamo and going out for lunch. It is definitely easier to go places when you have two sets of hands to hold Hannah. When your arms are aching you just pass her on...
Jill had to leave Thursday...Hannah and I were sad to see her go but I know Jon was thrilled to have her home. It might be the last time we see Jill for a while since her and Jon are moving to England for the next few years. I'm so glad she got a chance to meet Hannah.

On Friday we flew to Florida to visit Paul's grandfather (Hannah's Opa-pa). We had a relaxing weekend hanging out with Opa. He took us out to nice meals at the country club. Hannah was pretty fussy when we were out to eat but all the ladies in the club were thrilled with Hannah and didn't seem to mind her cries a bit. They even held her for a while so Paul and I could eat our dinner. Opa was great at entertaining Hannah and quickly discovered that she loved to watch moving objects like wiggling fingers. We attempted a trip to the beach on Saturday afternoon which was somewhat frustrating. After driving around for about an hour and not finding a parking spot, we decided to finally park inland and walk across the bridge to the inter-coastal and beach. In the end I'm not sure it was such a good idea...Hannah wasn't crazy about the long walk in the sun. Anyway, there are a few photos of the beautiful beach.

Above is a pic of Paul helping Hannah walk (I have yet to figure out how to move these photos around to the correct spot). She is not really walking but loves to stand. She does support most of her weight on her own two legs but has absolutely NO balance! I'm certainly not in any rush for Hannah to walk although Paul might be. Another pic shows her holding her diaper while I'm changing her. We always have a clean diaper ready and waiting while we are changing her and she now grabs it and often tries to stuff it in her mouth. I know, it is sad the things that amuse me...but she is doing new things all the time.

I love the picture of her in the car seat - her expression is hilarious.
